Cautiously optimistic for #ANZHES2019

Monday evening: We remain cautiously optimistic about the ANZHES conference in Port Macquarie.

The Port Macquarie campus is currently open and University’s Critical Incident Response Group is monitoring the situation and in touch with us. The bushfires near Port Macquarie are currently under control and at ‘Advice’ level. See https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fire-information/fires-near-me

The fire alert is high for the North Coast this week, which is an improvement from the severe conditions we previously faced. Smoke haze is currently the main issue with poor air quality at times. See https://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/topics/air/current-air-quality/special-projects-monitoring

Today has been a better day with little smoke and blue skies, but there is likely to be some smoke again tonight. If you suffer from a respiratory condition it is advisable to make sure you bring your medication. We will continue to monitor the situation.
